The Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation Elaine L. Chao expressed gratitude to the nation’s commercial truck & bus inspectors and enforcement officers.
Ms. Chao mentioned that the enforcement officers work every day to ensure that commercial vehicles are safe, and America’s critical supply chains are maintained.
“Here at the U.S. Department of Transportation, we understand the vital role truck inspections play in the movement of freight. State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies work hand-in-hand with federal inspectors and the commercial vehicle industry to ensure that our nation’s trucks and buses are operating safely. This has become even more important during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Officers have been working around the clock to ensure that our roads are safe, and truck and bus inspections are being completed. From roadside inspections to more in-depth investigations, enforcement officers are doing their jobs with integrity and professionalism. This ensures that America’s supply chain operates without interruption, which benefits everyone.”
Before, Mrs. Chao thanked truck drivers and said that truckers are playing a heroic role in helping America.
