FMCSA Announced That Drivers Could Use the Emergency Exception in the Incidents of Threats

For the past year, the level of violence on the road has increased. To ensure the security of the industry, FMCSA has developed a guide for truck drivers.

The exception of emergency conditions § 395.1 (b) allows to complete the mileage without violating the HOS rules.

The exception takes effect if the trip is delayed due to violence on the roadway, and the driver is reasonably afraid for his life and safety.

A driver who is facing any crime or violence should contact the police immediately.

The full text of exception §395.1(b) for all motor carriers and drivers you can find here.
