On July 29, in Lincoln and the surrounding area, troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) Carrier Enforcement Division held surprise commercial vehicle inspection. The Lincoln Police Department supported the special enforcement effort.
Troopers granted 13 CVSA stickers for vehicles and trailers without serious safety violations. The Metropolitan Aggressive and Prevention Selective (MAPS) team examined 32 vehicles in total.
During the examination, troopers identified:
- 113 violations of FMCSA and state laws;
- 21 vehicles with multiple violations;
- two drivers with serious violations.
The surprise inspections focus on commercial vehicles that may not travel outside the city or pass through weigh stations on the regular routes. Troopers inspect for compliance with FMCSA regulations and implement laws. Further MAPS activities will last throughout the summer.
